The case with Prabhas is pretty strange. He had an insane career boost with the Baahubali franchise but things got stale afterwards. His fans would go to watch films in hoards on Day 1 but eventually, it would be a fiasco.
Regardless, Kalki 2898 AD is not like that. Despite charges of art theft and a lot more, the movie comes out to be a great experience. It is not the kind of film whose story or characters will remain inside your heart for a long time. But, those 3 hours in the movie theatre will be worth it.
And the reviews are all pride and joy. The makers must be feeling insanely happy about the phenomenal reception of the movie. Quite strangely, it is not Prabhas making headlines for the movie.
It is Amitabh Bachchan.
The man still has so much untapped potential that nobody talks about. Even at the age of 80 he has the capability of surprising us in ways that nobody could imagine him pulling off. He simply stuns in the role of Ashwatthama.
And all this positive word of mouth is translating into ticket sales as well. Seeing the positive outcome, more than 1.1 million people booked tickets for watching Kalki 2898 AD in the last 24 hours only on BookMyShow. And there would be many offline ticket sales as well.
Looks like a new history is in the making with Kalki 2898 AD.
