Kannada film ‘Kranti’ premiered in theatres across India on 26th January, 2023, as a Republic Day release. ‘Kranti’ stars Darshan as a successful NRI businessman, who returns to India for an event, but is shocked to see the rampant corruption in the education system in his country. ‘Kranti’ which means revolution, centres on the protagonist’s endeavors to turn around at least some of the harshest decisions in education, taken by his state government at the behest of a greedy, influential businessman, and the corrupt education minister.
The film stars Darshan in the titular role along with actors Sumalatha, Tarun Arora, Ravichandran, Sampath Raj, P. Ravi Shankar, Achyuth Kumar, among others. ‘Kranti’ is written and directed by V. Harikrishna, produced by B. Suresha along with Shylaja Nag, under the banner of Media House Studio. V. Harikrishna has also composed the music of ‘Kranti’.
