The official page for Dharma Productions has teased a new project from the house. No release dates or cast members are revealed as of now.
The image shows someone with a typewriter holding a piece of paper with ‘Story Mein hero ho ya na ho, story honi chahiye’ written on it. The heap of papers by the side looks like the script of the new movie.
In the caption it is written, ‘A hero of a story that taught you the power of love from Ahmedabad to Chennai!’. Fans are guessing that it might be something to do with ‘2 States’ which told the love story of a Punjabi boy and a Tamil girl.
While it is highly possible that it will be a completely different story that goes on a similar trajectory, still we can not deny the chances of a sequel. ‘2 States’ was a very popular movie and it got huge appreciation from critics and audiences.
Fans choose Alia Bhatt for the movie and this time their favorite male protagonist seems to be Siddharth Malhotra. If the movie is not a sequel in that sense and tells a different story as the second film with a similar theme, it might have some risk at the box office. Because the recent ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ too can be tagged as the second ‘2 States’. A sequel might be a safer option.
While fans carry on guessing about the project, let’s just wait for more announcements on the same.
