Karan Johar’s Ambitious Film Ready to be Eaten by Kalki 2898 AD

One can always choose to like or dislike Karan Johar for his films and activities. But he is one of the most powerful personalities in the Hindi film industry for more than 2 decades now.

He is a brilliant businessman if his potential as a filmmaker is ever to be debated. But sometimes he indeed makes stupid decisions. We do realise that Kalki 2898 AD postponed itself at the last minute but both Karan Johar and Guneet Monga should have taken care of Kill.

Kill literally has only 3 full days to be released and there is no buzz. The movie is highly ambitious with a lot of gory action and violence. The international reception of the film in TIFF was also very promising. However, the film lacks any big stars and it can sell only on the basis of word of mouth.

But, the makers chose a really bad time. Kalki 2898 AD is literally rocking the theatres with its huge box office numbers. In situations like this, a film like Kill has a very very small chance of survival. We don’t know how good or bad of a film Kill is, but it is meant for theatrical experience. Perhaps Karan Johar and Guneet Monga would not want Kill to be merely an OTT success. Looks like Kill is going to be eaten up by Kalki 2898 AD. We wish the film all the best but the makers have been proactive.
