The trailer for the much awaited investigative thriller drama ‘The Buckingham Murders’ is here and it’s one intriguing murder mystery where you can’t trust anyone. Helmed by Hansal Mehta, ‘The Buckingham Murders’ will release in cinemas on 13th September, 2024.
The trailer begins with the new Detective in town Jasmeet Bhamra aka Jass interrogating the suspects of a young Sikh boy Ishpreet Kohli’s murder. Each one has their own version of the story and Jass finds it hard to believe any of them. The case intensifies more when following the arrest of a Muslim teenager in this connection, leads to violence erupting in the local community.
Jass’ interrogation, where she is assisted by another local detective, leads her to unravel mysterious web of secrets and lies where trusting anyone is out of question even the boy’s own family. Turns out the boy was adopted by an Indian family living abroad and was a victim of something bigger and sinister going on within the local community. Will Jass find the truth while battling the demons of her own past?
‘The Buckingham Murders’ is a crime thriller drama that follows a grieving cop who loses her child to murder and moves to another town where she’s tasked with investigating the disappearance of a missing child. The film explores the themes of trauma, grief, the immigrant experience, and human need for closure.
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s role as a British-Indian detective is said to be inspired by Kate Winslet’s character in ‘Mare of Easttown’. The film also marks Kapoor Khan’s first production venture alongside Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor of Balaji Motion Pictures.
Directed by Hansal Mehta and written by Aseem Arora, Raghav Raj Kakker, and Kashyap Kapoor, ‘The Buckingham Murders’ stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Keith Allen, Ranveer Brar, Ashutosh Tandon, Kapil Redekar, Rukku Nahar, Haqi Ali, and Chris Wilson among others.
A Mahana Films and TBM Films production, ‘The Buckingham Murders’ will release in theatres on 13th September, 2024. The post theatrical streaming rights for ‘The Buckingham Murders’ are with Netflix.
