Kareena Kapoor’s OTT Film ‘The Buckingham Murders’ To Hit This Theatre First!

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s new movie ‘The Buckingham Murders’ has been generating huge buzz among film fans in the country. The pretty Bollywood actress plays a police detective in the movie, who is tasked with solving the murder of a ten-year-old kid. For those who don’t know, The Buckingham Murders is a streaming movie, which will release directly on Netflix worldwide.

However, before we have an official release date for The Buckingham Murders on Netflix, film enthusiasts can enjoy the murder mystery film on the big screen; and in one of the most prestigious theatres in the country too. The Buckingham Murders has been picked to be the opening film at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. The Buckingham Murders will open the Mumbai Film Festival on 27th October, 2023.

The film will premiere on the big screen in the prestigious ‘The Grand Theatre’ at the Neeta Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai on 27th October. Film fans can book tickets to catch the film on the big screen, before it hits Netflix sometime in November.

The Buckingham Murders is set in London, and centres on police detective Jas Bhamra (Kareena Kapoor Khan), a detective and mother who, after losing her own child, must investigate the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire, going down a rabbit hole of secrets, where almost everyone in the small town becomes a suspect. The film shines a spotlight on grief and closure, along with being a nuanced storytelling endeavor.

The movie is written by Aseem Arrora, Raghav Raj Kakker and Kashyap Kapoor. It is directed by stellar director, Hansal Mehta. Ektaa R. Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, Mahana Films, and Kareena Kapoor Khan are co-producers of The Buckingham Murders. The film marks the production debut of Kareena Kapoor.

Besides Kareena Kapoor Khan, The Buckingham Murders stars Keith Allen, Chris Wilson, Ash Tandon, Haqi Ali, Adwoa Akoto and Ranveer Brar in pivotal roles. The movie premiered at the BFI London Film Festival 2023, where it received a standing ovation from the audience.
