Tamil Star Karthi‘s next, Sulthan is all set for a grand release on April 2nd in theaters. The movie was supposed to release the last year during the Lockdown but the pandemic played a spoilsport. The makers have got some very interesting offers from the OTT platforms to skip its theatrical release but they opted to wait for the theaters to open.
“We got several offers from the OTT. But then, we felt Sulthan is a film made for the theatrical experience. There is an ample dose of comedy and emotions in the movie. They can not be experienced on OTT by sitting alone in a room. The theater will give an experience which will be very enjoyable. It is a tough decision to make and I should thank the producers for waiting until the theaters open,” Karthi revealed.
Sulthan is releasing simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. The movie will get a solo release in Tamil but faces stiff competition in Telugu from Nagarjuna’s Wild Dog. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in this movie which marks her Tamil debut. The movie is written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, and produced by S. R. Prakash Babu and S. R. Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures
