Karthi’s ’Sardar’ came out in 2022 and was a blockbuster hit and the sequel for the same was announced within a week of the film’s release. ‘Sardar 2’ has now officially begun and the shooting will commence in a couple of days.
In ‘Sardar’ we saw how a former RAW agent code named Sardar is declared a traitor and ends up being estranged from his family and son. When the whole family couldn’t bear the embarrassment and commits suicide it’s the agent’s son Vijay who is left behind and grows up to become a police officer.
In the present, Sardar has returned to uncover a conspiracy and save people. He reunites with his son and by the end of the mission recruits him as a RAW agent who is given an unrevealed code name and is set to be sent on a mission to Combodia.
‘Sardar 2’ is expected to pick from where the first part ended and that being Vijay on a secret mission to Combodia. What’s the mission all about and how is he going to serve his country through it remains to be seen.
‘Sardar’ received highly positive reviews upon its release and was also a commercial success. The film was praised for its well built stroyline, amazing performances and deft direction. It will be interesting to see how the things are carried forward in the sequel.
‘Sardar 2’ will be helmed by P. S. Mithran who also directed the first part and will stars Karthi in the lead role. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed music for the film whose cinematography will be handled by George C Williams. S Lakshman Kumar under his Prince Pictures banner has produced ‘Sardar 2’.
