Kashmakash – A Crime Anthology Show with a Difference, Hungama Play Unveils Trailer and Premiere Date

By Rashmi Paharia - Feb 21, 2020 @ 09:02 pm

Hungama Play today unveiled the trailer and premiere date its upcoming Original series, Kashmakash, which is an anthology of five modern-day crime stories. And it is primed to premiere on 25th February on Hungama Play.

Hungama Play, which has enjoyed recent success with its edgy thriller series, Damaged 2, dropped the trailer of Kashmakash, a series that takes a no-nonsense look at crimes that take place in broad daylight, yet are equally damaging for the victims. They are more a result of today’s hyper-connected world than the kind of conventional crimes of yesteryears.
Social media, WhatsApp and digital fame all play a neat tango in allowing criminals to perpetuate crimes that threaten to destroy the psyche and mental equilibrium of the victims.

The five stories touch myriad issues – a housewife-turned social media star who attracts unwanted attention because of her fame; a couple who gives online access into their lives, only to watch it reduced to a sordid mess by blackmailing criminals: a WhatsApp group admin blatantly peddling fake news without realizing its far-reaching consequences; a youngster whose life spirals out of control due to her drug addiction; a social media influencer who slowly descends into mental imbalance – these are all stories that are real and relatable.

One thing that sets the anthology apart from other crime shows is a brilliant innovation – each story comes with an alternate ending – giving viewers a different perspective on it.

The cast comprises popular actors such as Sharad Malhotra, Eijaz Khan, Abhishek Kapur, Anjum Fakih, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Abigail Pande, Lavina Tandon, Vahbiz Dorabjee, Shiny Doshi, Supriya Shukla, Rajendar Chawla, Vicky Ahuja, Roma Bali and Abbas Khan.

Anil V Kumar Productions are the producers, while Anil V Kumar, Shiva Varma, Saptaraj Chakraborty and Saket N Yadav are the directors of the five stories.

Kashmakash will arrive on Hungama Play on 25th February. Have a look at the trailer of Kashmakash
