Kate Hudson’s Running Point Tops Netflix Global & India Charts

Never in our wildest dreams did we think that Kate Hudson would be able to rejuvenate her acting career with Running Point Season 1 on Netflix. And to do it with such effortlessness and style—wow! The debut season of Running Point has now taken the #1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Shows weekly list and has also entered Netflix India’s Top 10 Shows list.

Running Point tells the story of Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson). After a past filled with partying, Isla is entrusted with running her family’s pro basketball team—a chance to prove her newfound maturity. She soon realises that the role comes with unforeseen difficulties and surprises, extending far beyond the basketball court.

The latest sports comedy-drama series from co-creator Mindy Kaling has taken the world by storm. The series has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics, particularly for its acting performances, plot, and humour. Hudson shines the most with her charismatic and outstanding performance.

The rest of the cast, including talents like Brenda Song, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, and more, also deliver brilliant performances.

Even on Rotten Tomatoes, the series boasts a ‘fresh’ 79% critic score and an impressive audience score of 81%.

As a result, Running Point Season 1 has claimed the number one spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Shows weekly list in its second week of streaming, with over 12.2 million views and more than 61.8 million hours of viewing. Robert De Niro’s Zero Day ranks second with 7.5 million views and 38.6 million hours of viewing.

Moreover, the latest Kate Hudson starrer has taken the second spot on Netflix India’s Top 10 Shows weekly list, trailing behind Dabba Cartel. Zero Day and Medusa have secured the third and fourth spots, respectively.

This proves that Running Point has performed exceptionally well in the Indian OTT space and across the globe. This success has even inspired Netflix to renew the series for a second season, confirming another dose of Hudson’s Isla Gordon and the Los Angeles Waves. Stay tuned for more updates!
