Once again there’s a change in scheduled release for Sriram Raghavan’s much anticipated thriller ‘Merry Christmas’. Set to release on 15th December earlier, ‘Merry Christmas’ will now arrive in theatres a week before on 8th December, 2023.
Starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupati in lead roles, ‘Merry Christmas’ was announced back in 2021 with an initial release set for December 2022 which was postponed by a year later. The latest release date gives the film a good two week window before the arrival of Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’.
Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil, ‘Merry Christmas’ is a thriller drama with a festive vibe and is directed by Sriram Raghavan (‘Andhadhun’, ‘Badlapur’), a national award winning filmmaker who is known for his neo-noir action thrillers. His other upcoming project is ‘Ikkis’, a war drama film based on the life of second lieutenant Arun Khetarpal and stars Dharmendra and marks the feature film debut of Agastya Nanda.
‘Merry Christmas’ is written by Raghavan along with Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti and Anukriti Pandey. Pritam has composed music for the film that is produced by Ramesh Turani, Jaya Turani, Sanjay Routray and Kewal Garg. Presented by Tips Films and Matchbox Pictures, ‘Merry Christmas’ will release in theatres on 8th December, 2023.
