Keanu Reeves’ Constantine 2 Gets A Major Update From Producer

Keanu Reeves’ Constantine 2 has got a fantastic update from producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. He has confirmed that the script for the upcoming sequel has been finished.

While speaking to one of the representatives at the global premiere of Chris Hemsworth’s Transformers One, di Bonaventura disclosed that he has not read the finished script for Constantine 2. This is what he said:

“You know it’s in my inbox right now. Funny enough, I’m too scared to read it, though,” he said. “I want it to be good so bad. I will probably read it in the next few days. When I get on an airplane.”

Akiva Goldsman has penned down the script for the forthcoming Constantine sequel. The duo of Frank Cappello and Kevin Broaddin wrote the story for the original 2005 entry.

The first Constantine flick has become a cult classic now. However, it received a more polarised response from critics during its theatrical run. But the reception towards the movie has improved over the years. It was a moderate box office success, earning over $230 million globally against its $100 million budget.

Reeves plays demonologist and supernatural exorcist John Constantine in the first film. The protagonist aids LAPD detective Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) in proving that her twin sister’s death was more than just a suicide.

Warner Bros officially announced Constantine 2 back in September 2022, with Keanu Reeves and Francis Lawrence returning as star and helmer, respectively. However, the sequel’s release date has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
