If any of you readers are currently staying in Kerala, then here is some good news for you – theatres in the state are finally opening tomorrow (27th October 2021). And it is opening with these two Hollywood big-budget films – the Daniel Craig starring James Bond film, ‘No Time To Die’ and the Awkwafina starring MCU superhero flick, ‘Shang-Chi’. Both films have got a good amount of reviews, with the former having become one of Daniel Craig’s better Bond outings and since it is his last outing as the 007 agent – it has become somewhat of a must-watch.
Both films will target a different set of audiences – the former will target Bond enthusiasts, the older generation as well as action flick lovers, while the latter will attract young children and teenagers for its superhero genre. Therefore, they are good films to attract crowds back into theatres, especially to a state that has had no cinema halls for over 16 months (except for a brief period of 50% occupancy allowance).
Besides these two films, the Tom Hardy starrer, ‘Venom 2’, is also expected to release in Kerala theatres. While only three feature films will be running in the cinema halls during the first two days a Malayalam film, ‘Star’ will make its premiere on Friday, October 29th 2021. This Prithviraj, Joju George starring psychological thriller is expected to run in theatres for a couple of weeks without any competition from other Malayalam features. If the film is anything like its trailer, it will be a brilliant film to watch in theatres.
