Kevin Feige Discusses Multiverse Theories & Fantastic Four Timeline

The MCU’s godfather, Kevin Feige, has shared some exciting details about The Fantastic Four. In his recent appearance on The Official Marvel Podcast, Feige confirmed that the upcoming Pedro Pascal starrer would be a period film. He also shed light on some intriguing Multiverse theories.

On the podcast, Feige also revealed that filming for The Fantastic Four would commence in late July this year, on July 25th, the first day of the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 event.

Feige confirmed that the movie would be a period piece. “Yes, yes, very much so. It is a period.” Additionally, he unveiled that the project’s events would take place in a different timeline, therefore, not sharing any connection with the main MCU timeline. “There were a lot of smart people, who noticed that the cityscape didn’t look exactly like the New York that we know, or that existed in the ’60s in our world,” he responded.

The movie’s first piece of artwork, featuring a mid-century modern style, hinted that its events might unfold in an alternate universe. This aligns well with the fact that The Fantastic Four comics debuted in the 1960s, suggesting the movie could pave the way for Marvel’s first family’s entry into the MCU.

The Fantastic Four stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka The Invisible Woman), Ebon-Moss Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka The Thing), and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka The Human Torch), Ralph Ineson as Galactus, and Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal (The Silver Surfer). Other talents such as John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Paul Walter Hauser have been cast in undisclosed roles. Stay tuned for more updates.
