The songs of this highly anticipated Kannada film is expected to premiere only after ‘RRR’s’ theatrical release. What’s even worse, it will depend on how the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic will affect the country. On the plus side, there will be two songs releasing… So that’s something.
Lahari Velu, owner of Lahari Music label had recently given an interview talking about this exact situation. The actor’s music company Lahari Music has managed to nab the audio rights for both movies and he was questioned about the theatrical release situation behind both of them. According to him, the songs for the Yash-Sanjay Dutt starrer, ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ will only release after the October theatrical release of the Ram Charan-NTR Jr. starrer ‘RRR’. And that will depend on how the third wave of the pandemic will affect October.
The third wave of the coronavirus is expected to peak during October, just as ‘RRR’ is releasing. And with a film like ‘RRR‘, the film producers will want the theatres to be open to the entirety of the country with 100% occupancy – which looks unlikely. ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ has already put the theatrical release of the movie indefinitely on hold until the pandemic situation dies down and 100% occupancy will be allowed – which is the smart decision.
The second wave of the coronavirus was quite vicious and took India by surprise. While the rest of the world managed to somewhat hold back the second wave of the virus (at least most of the other countries did), we flailed around helplessly, which eventually lead to quarantine zones and state-wide lockdowns. As a result, most of the country has been suffering, including the entertainment industry – the only industry that managed to help us keep our sanity during the first wave of the pandemic. Now, it seems that the third wave of the coronavirus is on the horizon – just as the second wave is dying down. With the way, our luck has been and the situation of our health care system, we wouldn’t be surprised if the third wave of the coronavirus rolls into 2022 for a third year. Hopefully, after the second wave, we will have a better chance of weathering this (possibly upcoming) pandemic.
