Dev’s much anticipated Bengali Action thriller ‘Khadaan’ got its teaser out today. The movie is directed by filmmaker Soojit Dutta and is a tale of friendship, power and politics.
The movie tells the story of Shyam, a so-called lower class man from the villages of Purulia, who comes to the coal mines of Damodar to work as a laborer. He befriends Mohan, a vaishnab devotee who smiles all the time. Mohan and Shyam go on to be best friends in troubled times and they rise through power in the coarse politics of the mine-areas.
The teaser looks good, there could have been a little work done in the coordinator grading though. The dialogues seem to be well-written and Jisshu fits his role as Mohan perfectly. There is a possibility that Jisshu might surpass Dev in his performance.
The music of the movie is given by Rathijit Bhattacharya, Savvy and Nilayan Chatterjee. The cinematography is handled by Shailesh Awasthi. Dev has served as a creative director in the movie. It has been a long time since we got a pure commercial movie of significant budget. Hopefully ‘Khadaan’ will be a raging success in theaters.
The movie comes out in theaters on the 20th of December this year.
