It’s been a week since Kill got released on the big screens. We were already very sceptical about its Box Office numbers and sadly our fears were right. The film is struggling to leave an impactful mark at the box office.
The film is produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment and the numbers are not embarrassing. Every production house gives disasters, regardless of their magnitude and it is alright. However, it is disgraceful if they try to prove a small number a huge achievement.
Even affording the official producer figures, the film touched 10 crores after 6 days. Dharma is celebrating these numbers as a “killing spree”.
If it were 2018 and people knew that a gruesome action film is coming up which is getting a Hollywood remake then it would be a wild ride. The film could easily cross ₹100 crores without a break.
Not only Karan Johar, but the entire Bollywood needs to rethink their methods of making and marketing films. If people are opting only for recognisable names on the big screens then how will we get movies like Darr and Kaho Na Pyaar Hai because no director would put efforts on films with newcomers?
Lakshya has done a good job in the film and maybe more people should have turned to see the film on the big screens.
