‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ Crosses $100M Milestone. Is It Enough?

Legendary Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s star-studded Western crime drama movie ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ was released in the US theatres on 20th October and in India on 27th October. It opened with an impressive $44 million at the box office globally. Moreover, despite its box-office clash with the Indian action film ‘Leo’, the Hollywood film held its own in Indian theatres.

And now, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ has crossed an important box-office milestone. The film has grossed over $100 million at the box office globally. Now, it would be interesting to see whether the critically admired film can surpass its budget, which is estimated to be around $200 million. The road ahead is not easy because other than the film’s production budget, significant marketing costs must also be involved. Theatrical profits seem improbable, but never say never, right?

‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ has been adapted for the screen by Oscar-winning veteran screenwriter Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, Munich, Dune) and is based on David Grann’s 2017 nonfiction book of the same name. The film’s plot revolves around the mysterious serial killings of the members of the Osage tribe in the 1920s United States and the investigation by the FBI. It features powerhouse performers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Nero, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Brendan Fraser, and John Lithgow, amongst other cast members.

On the reviews front, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ currently holds 93% critics score on reviews aggregation platform Rotten Tomatoes. The movie will later start streaming on the Apple TV+ OTT platform. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on that!
