Hoichoi has suddenly announced that a movie that was not streaming anywhere for a long time will now be available on their platform. It is ‘Kolkatay Kohinoor’ and will be a mystery thriller. The movie is directed by Santanu Ghosh and stars some of the finest actors from the industry.
It has the late Soumitra Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakroborty, Mona Dutta, Indrani Dutta, Barua Chanda etc in important roles. It will obviously be great for fans to see Soumitra Chatterjee once again in a new movie.
But is it being too much with the subject now? The movie tells the story of the legendary diamond Kohinoor and what might have been the real backstory behind it that has not been encrypted in history. Rajatava Dutta and Sourav Das are coming together with a new science fiction movie named ‘Kohinoor’ too which will have a similar theme. There have been many movies that have used the bloodied history and mystery of the Kohinoor as their bases. But it is tiresome at times too.
Bengali audiences will, however, like the movie because it has their favourite actors in it. Soumitra Chatterjee’s screen presence will of course draw a large number of views to the platform and it looks like a big win for Hoichoi at this moment.
