The much-awaited Korean Drama ‘Snowdrop‘ is finally set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. K-Drama fans will be happy to know that Snowdrop will arrive on Disney+ Hotstar on 9th February. The streaming giant will not drop all the episodes of the series at one go, however. Rather, Snowdrop will stream in the one-episode-per-week format on Disney+ Hotstar. The 16-episode series began streaming on JTBC TV in South Korea, and on Disney+ in select regions on December 18. The final episode of Snowdrop Season 1 dropped on January 30.
‘Snowdrop’ is a period drama that explores the forbidden love between a young couple trapped in a time of political turmoil. The show is set in the backdrop of the 1987 Democratic Movement in South Korea. The series is a much talked about one, for the sole reason that it stars Jisoo as the female lead. Jisoo, aka Kim Ji-soo, is a member of the popular K-Pop all-girls band, Blackpink.
Jisoo plays Eun Young-ro, a university student who shelters an injured and bloodied Im Soo-ho (Jung Hae-in, ‘While You Were Sleeping’) in her university dorm room. However, it is revealed that Soo-ho is not who he appears to be. He is hiding a terrifying secret that will put the lives of all he knows and loves at risk.
‘Snowdrop’ is written by Yoo Hyun-mi and directed by Jo Hyun-tak, the duo behind the 2018 thriller ‘Sky Castle’.
