Korean movie ‘Tunnel‘ will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video from the 31st of December. It is written and directed by Kim Seong-hun. The movie stars Ha Jung-woo, Bae Doona, Oh Dal-su in the lead roles.
Tunnel had its theatrical release on the 10th August of 2016 and was nominated for many awards and even won some of them. It was a success at the box office and has pretty good ratings on platforms like IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.
It tells the story of Lee Jung-soo, a man who is returning from work for his daughter’s birthday and his car enters a tunnel. The tunnel suddenly breaks down and when Lee regains consciousness he is trapped in his car and buried under lots of debris. He has to survive with the birthday cake he bought for his daughter, two water bottles and a cellphone. The rescue operation is slow and sluggish and the whole nation is enraged with the following events. Lee’s wife asks him to keep hope through the wireless he has inside the car and he does not give up his will to live despite extremely adverse situations.
Korean dramas and movies have a huge market in India and they are getting kore popular day by day, the originality in content has earned them a huge fanbase here in India. It has wonderful cinematography from Kim Tae-seong and the music is composed by Mok Young-jin and Vitek Kral.
Tunnel is a wonderful example of a survival thriller and will definitely impress you. The movie will be available to watch in three Indian languages which are Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Watch it on Amazon Prime Video from December 31.
