Korean movie ‘Exhuma’ has set the cash registers ringing at ticket windows across South Korea. The film was released in Korean theatres on 22nd February, 2024. Since then, Exhuma has become the highest grossing Korean movie of 2024. The horror film has captured the imagination of Korean audiences, who love watching a good horror thriller in the theatres.
Fans of Korean horror movies in India will be delighted to know that Exhuma is finally releasing in Indian theatres soon. 3rd May is the release date set for Exhuma in theatres in India.
The supernatural horror film Exhuma follows a shaman who digs up an ancestor’s ancient grave in order to cure a rich man’s newborn of a mysterious ailment, which is the result of the vengeful ancestor haunting the man. The digging up of the grave unleashes dreadful consequences for all concerned.
Exhuma is written and directed by Jang Jae-hyun. It stars Choi Min-sik, Kim Go-eun, Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Do-hyun in pivotal roles. Kim Jae-cheol, Kim Sun-young, Kim Ji-an, among others, play supporting roles in the film.
The Korean film had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival on 16th February, 2024, in the ‘In Forum’ section of the film festival.
