Korean Vampire Rom-Com Series ‘Heartbeat’ To Release On Prime Video

The upcoming South Korean vampire rom-com television series, Heartbeat, will release on Prime Video too, apart from its original network KBS2, on June 26.

The arrival of ‘Heartbeat’ on Prime Video highlights the streaming platform’s efforts to expand its global slate. Produced by Monster Union and WeMad, the series will be available in more than 240 countries and territories outside of South Korea, consisting of 16 episodes. New episodes will arrive on Prime Video weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Ok Taec-yeon will play the protagonist, Seon Woo-hyul, in the series. His character will be a half-vampire and half-human. Starring opposite Ok is Won Ji-an (who will play Joo In-hae) in the show. Her character is an owner of a guest house who also works as a part-time high school nurse. Other members of the cast include Park Kang-hyun and Yoon So-hee.

The leading man, Ok, is prominent for his work in projects such as Vincenzo, Let’s Fight Ghost and Blind. On the other hand, the series’ female lead, Won, is known for her work in D.P., If You Wish Upon Me, and Hope or Dope.

Seon possesses the characteristics of both a human and a vampire. He resides in his coffin for 100 years, hoping to find true love. However, everything changes drastically after a cold-blooded yet beautiful girl, Joo, awakens him from his long sleep. They somehow agree to live together and soon fall in love.
