Prime Video India has just announced a new Telugu series on its platform, titled ‘Kumari Srimathi’. The Telugu series stars popular Malayalam actress Nithya Menen in the titular lead role. There’s no release date yet for Kumari Srimathi, but Prime Video has declared that the series is coming soon on the platform.
‘Kumari Srimathi’ will mark Nithya Menen’s first ever Telugu web series. The multi-lingual actress has appeared in several well-received Telugu films earlier. ‘Kumari Srimathi’ is said to be a coming-of-age drama about a small-town girl who accomplishes big things. The first promo revealed this morning describes the lead protagonist as fierce and fearless.
The series is directed by Gomtesh Upadhye in his full-fledged directorial debut. The director has earlier directed a YouTube music video titled ‘Neeve’. Kumari Srimathi is written and created by Srinivas Avasarala. Prolific Telugu film production banner Vyjayanthi Films are the producers of Kumari Srimathi, alongside their co-owned banner Swapna Cinema.
Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Praneetha Patnaik, Thiruveer, among others, make up the rest of the cast of ‘Kumari Srimathi’. We’ll get more details about the series as its release date gets closer.
