Kung Fu Panda 4 BO: Jack Black Starrer Reaches A New Milestone

Po (Jack Black), with all the chi in his fists and dumpling power in his tummy, has stabilized Kung Fu Panda 4 at the global box office, allowing the fourth entry to achieve a new milestone.

DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda is one of the most prominent animated movie franchises globally. Now, it has become a $2 billion franchise, thanks to the latest Jack Black starrer. The fourth entry’s performance at the global box office has been impressive despite receiving mixed critical reception and running in theatres for nearly a month. In addition, the film’s domestic collection has surpassed Kung Fu Panda 3 (which is $143.5 million), reaching $151.6 million.

However, the film’s performance in foreign regions has not been as impressive as its predecessors. This could limit it from surpassing Kung Fu Panda 3’s overall collection of $521 million. In addition, the releases of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire will certainly make things more difficult for the fourth entry. The latter project received a splendid response from audiences despite a divisive reaction from critics, earning over $194 million globally in its opening weekend.

The global collections of Kung Fu Panda 4 curbed by 35.4% from the second week’s figures. If its collections decrease further, then it may fail to surpass Kung Fu Panda 3’s collections. Still, DreamWorks and the makers of the fourth instalment should be proud of the film’s overall performance. It stars Jack Black, Awkwafina, Bryan Cranston, James Hong, Ian McShane, Ke Huy Quan, Viola Davis, Dustin Hoffman, and more. Stay tuned for more updates.
