Kung Fu Panda 4 will arrive in theatres worldwide in March this year. The fourth entry in the prominent DreamWorks franchise features the return of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Bryan Cranston, and Ian McShane. In addition, new characters voiced by Awkwafina, Viola Davis, and Ke Huy Quan will also appear in the sequel. The fourth Kung Fu Panda entry could put DreamWorks back on track. Here’s how!
DreamWorks’ last two theatrical animated releases, ‘Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken’ and ‘Trolls Band Together’, failed to perform well in terms of box office collections. While the latter turned out to be an average grosser ($208 million), the former animated flick was a box office disaster, with $46 million of collection only. Kung Fu Panda 4 could support DreamWorks through its box office performance.
All Kung Fu Panda films have grossed over $500 million worldwide separately. So, we should expect the upcoming fourth entry to do the same. In addition, Disney has delayed the release of Pixar’s Elio, starring America Ferrera. Elio was supposed to come out a week before Kung Fu Panda 4. Elio’s release delay would allow Kung Fu Panda 4 to earn as much as possible globally. The only competitor that could make things tricky for the fourth part is Dune: Part Two, coming out in theatres worldwide on March 1.
DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda 4 will arrive in theatres on March 8, 2024. Mike Mitchell has directed this one. Stay tuned for more updates.
