The box-office thrill is back, with two big releases in consecutive weeks, flawlessly ruling the market. After two months, we are now witnessing proper Box-office domination battles, and “Dune Part Two” VS “Kung Fu Panda 4” is the talk of the week after the Oscars night.
The award night is over, the fireworks are done, and now the entertainment world will return to a very regular spell. Amidst the sorrows, “Kung Fu Panda 4” manages to rise from the ashes and exceed the Box-office predictions.
As the stars read, the film grossed $58.3 million with a projection of $50 million. The budget nears $85 million, the cheapest of the franchise, yet the Box-office is the second-best opening for the franchise. The original had an opening of $60 million.
“Dune Part Two,” on the other hand, continued its rampage, managing to gross $46 million. The stunning Box-office run continues, as its entire domestic Box-office run reached $157 million. And the train of “Dune 2” isn’t stopping anywhere soon; the run will definitely continue as “Dune Part Two” is on the verge of becoming the box-office blockbuster.
So, we previously predicted that “Dune Part Two” might fumble in front of “Kung Fu Panda 4,” and that came out as the reality of the market. Though $46 million is not quite a fumble, it definitely falls short. Now, “Kung Fu Panda” might not be as long-lasting as “Dune Part Two,” but it is definitely something worth watching.
