Netflix has announced that Kurt Stutter’s (‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘Mayans M.C.’) ‘The Abandons’ has now begun production in Calgary. ‘The Abandons’ tells the story of a group of diverse renegade families living on the fringes of society in 1850s Oregon.
These lost souls band together to fight corrupt forces and do anything they can to save their land. The Western series will explore the jagged line between survival and law, the consequences of violence, and the corrosive power of secrets as this makeshift family battles to keep what’s theirs.
Led by Lena Headey (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘‘300’, ‘Dredd’, ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’, ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’), ‘The Abandons’ stars an ensemble cast that includes Gillian Anderson (‘Sex Education’, ‘The Crown’, ‘The X-Files’), Michael Greyeyes (‘Blood Quantum’, ‘Wild Indian’), Michiel Huisman (‘Rebel moon’, ‘Echo 3’), Ryan Hurst (‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘The Walking Dead’), Toby Hemingway (‘The Crossing’, ‘Sun Gazer’), Nick Robinson (‘Maid’, ‘A Teacher’), Diana Silvers (‘Booksmart’, ‘Space Force’), Lucas Till (‘X-Men’, ‘MacGyver’), Lamar Johnson (‘The Last of Us’, ‘Brother’), Aisling Franciosi (‘The Nightingale’, ‘God’s Creatures’) and Natalia del Riego (‘Hail Mary,’ ‘Promised Land’).
