Damien Chazelle, director of the multiple Oscar winner La La Land, including the Best Director trophy, has set his eyes on another musical. It is titled ‘The Eddy’, and currently, the casting of the series is underway.
Amandla Stenberg of ‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘The Hate You Gave Me’ fame has been roped in to play the lead role in The Eddy. It will be an eight-part series. Houda Benyamina, Alan Poul will be co-directing the episodes along with Damien Chazelle.
The Eddy is going to be set in Paris and will centre on a club. The city will play a crucial role in the background for all the happening in the club, the owner and a band formed by them. Andre Holland, Joanna Kulig are other important actors in the setup.
The shooting of The Eddy is going to begin soon. The makers are targeting a 2020 release. The musicals are not regular features on any platform which makes The Eddy exciting. An Academy Award winner Damien Chazelle who made the classic musical La La Land backing it is like icing on the cake.
