Laal Singh Chaddha Vs Raksha Bandhan; Which Movie Emerged Bigger

Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan were rivals at the box office and so on OTT. While the OTT clash doesn’t matter, the box office clash brutally hampered the potential of both films and both of them emerged as fiascos.

It is not that any of them had the potential of becoming a blockbuster because their content too was a king-sized disappointment.

Regardless, we have the official viewership data of both films on OTT.

Laal Singh Chaddha was released on 6th October on Netflix. There was no prior announcement and it was a sudden release.

Raksha Bandhan on the other hand was released on the 5th of October on Zee5. However, an appreciable marketing campaign helped the movie gain a buzz.

Within 3 days, i.e. 6th to 9th of October, Laal Singh Chaddha was streamed for 6,630,000 hours. We are taking into account only 3 days because that is the only period for which we have the official data.

Till now, Raksha Bandhan has earned over 150 million minutes of streaming. It translates into 2500000 hours. It is almost the data of 7 days and yet, the data of both the films are comparable.

Because Laal Singh Chaddha crosses Raksha Bandhan by a huge margin. The views are not even close and the credit goes to the large subscriber base of Netflix India.

This proves how important the subscriber base is if the movie intends to target a large audience.
