Most of you might already be aware of the fact that the membership prices for Amazon Prime are soon slated to increase substantially.
In India, an Amazon Prime membership provides its members combined access to its premium OTT platform Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Reading, Gaming with Prime besides other shopping benefits.
Just a few days back, it was announced that membership prices for Amazon Prime were to be increased to Rs.179/-, Rs.459/-, and Rs.1499/- for monthly, quarterly, and annual charges basis. Whereas, earlier, the monthly, quarterly, and annual membership rates were Rs.129/-, Rs.329/-, and Rs.999/- respectively.
Albeit existing members will continue to enjoy their current period of membership on old prices.
However, the good thing is that Amazon is offering its existing and prospective members to lock-in the old, cheaper membership offer prices of Rs.129/-, Rs.329/-, and Rs.999/-. But it’s a limited period offer which can only be availed until 13th December 2021.
Because the new and increased Prime membership rates of Rs.179/, Rs.459/, and Rs.1499/- will become applicable with effect from 14th December 2021.
It’s mention-worthy that the limited period offer can be availed by both Amazon Prime existing members and also for prospective members. So, for instance, your annual Amazon Prime membership is ending on 31st December 2021.
In case you wait for your membership to be auto-renewed, you’ll end up losing the Rs.500/- older price advantage (annual).
So, in case you are interested in renewing your Amazon Prime membership, we advise you renew it in advance on or before 13th December 2021 and lock-in the old membership rates.
By doing that, you could also enjoy the Amazon Prime Video OTT service at a discounted annual price of Rs.999/- instead of paying Rs.1499/- at a later date.
