Universal Pictures’ hit 2020 sci-fi horror ‘M3GAN’ was a big box office hit. A rare horror-comedy that delivers chuckles as effortlessly as chills, the feature was Gerard Johnstone’s directorial venture.
The plot follows M3GAN, a lifelike doll programmed to be a child’s companion and a parent’s ally. Designed by Gemma, a brilliant roboticist, the doll can listen, watch, and learn as it dons the hat of a friend and teacher, playmate and protector. When Gemma becomes the unexpected caretaker of her 8-year-old niece, she decides to give the girl a M3GAN prototype. Unfortunately, the decision yields unimaginable consequences.
Following the success of the first installment production companies Atomic Monster & Blumhouse announced its upcoming sequel ‘M3GAN 2.0’. The newest addition to the second installment is Ivanna Sakhno, the breakout star who played the antagonist Shin Hati in the hit Star Wars series ‘Ahsoka’, a spinoff from the acclaimed series ‘The Mandalorian’.
She has joined the cast alongside Allison Williams and Violet McGraw. Sakhno rose to prominence with films like ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ and ‘The Spy Who Dumped Me’, where she starred opposite Mila Kunis.
While plot and character details are unknown as of now, fans of the eccentric feature around the world must surely be riled up after this announcement!
