Amid the lockdown and the rising cases which have put the health system of the nation in turmoil many of the films are taking the OTT route as they cannot hold on much longer. Some of the projects with a larger budget and star cast are also pivoting towards the digital space.
Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom is the latest to be added to this list as reports are suggesting that they have made deal with Amazon Prime Video to launch the film on their platform. Jackky Bhagnani and Nikhil Advani are the producers of the film and it seems that they have gotten a pretty lucrative deal.
Apart from Akshay Kumar ‘Bell Bottom’ also stars Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor, and Lara Dutta. The film is directed by Ranjit Tiwari. It is an action thriller and is based on true events and is set in the background of 1980 which depicts the life of some true heroes. It was one of the first films to start shooting during the pandemic. Bell Bottom is written by Parveez Shaikh and Aseem Arora.
The pandemic has certainly not stopped Akshay Kumar as one has seen several of his projects roll out. This is not his first film that has taken the direct to OTT path and he continues to bring us exciting projects and characters. Another one of his big-budget films ‘Sooryavanshi’ is still waiting for a theatrical release and would like to eye Independence Day is theatres are opened up in the nation.
We are also waiting to see when Bell Bottom will officially release on Amazon Prime but it will tentatively be in the same week as Independence Day.
