LATEST! Venkatesh Daggubati’s “Narappa” Postpones Theatrical Release!

The country’s situation at the moment is not hidden from anyone. We are going through one of the most difficult times, with our health system severely failing and Covid-19 cases hitting an all time high. In situations like this many of the upcoming movies both from Bollywood and South that were scheduled for releases are taking decisions on what to do about it.

The recent news is that one of the most anticipated Telugu films “Narappa” is postponing their theatrical release date as of now. The makers and lead actor Venkatesh Daggubati took to social media to announce the postponement of the upcoming movie. The movie was earlier scheduled to release on the 14th of May, 2021 and right now.

The reason for the postponement is obviously the deteriorating conditions of the nation and drastic surge of Covid-19 cases. The makers had already been thinking as to what should happen with the theatrical release date, given the situation. Now it seems like it is the perfect decision for them to take, considering what is happening all around the country.

The movie is the remake of 2019’s hit Tamil film and Dhanush starrer “Asuran”, which itself is based on Vekkai by Poomani. The Telugu remake stars Venkatesh as Narappa along with stars like Priyamani, Karthik Ratnam, Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma in major roles. Venkatesh also recently revealed the poster for the movie during Ugadi. The action drama is directed by Srikanth Addala.

As of now there has been no announcements as to when the new dates will be announced, or if it will take an alternate route for the release.
