Legal Dramas ‘Suits’, ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Clash In Nielsen Top 10

Nielsen’s latest top ten overall streaming titles list (for the week of 3rd July to 9th July 2023) is out now. And continuing its terrific form, the legal drama series ‘Suits’ has bagged the top spot on the coveted list consecutively for the third time this week. The show has further registered a 17% increase in total viewing minutes with an impressive 3.67 billion minutes of viewing under its belt.

And in doing that, ‘Suits’ has surpassed its own record as the most watched acquired title as per Nielsen. Moreover, the popular series has also achieved the feat of having the thirteenth highest viewing total on Nielsen’s top streaming titles list. The earlier titles with better viewing stats on Nielsen include the Netflix shows ‘Wednesday’, ‘Ozark’, and ‘Stranger Things’, amongst others.

Interestingly, the show’s ninth and final season concluded in the year 2019 but ‘Suits’ still found a place on Nielsen because it recently started streaming on Netflix US and found renewed popularity among OTT audiences. In India, ‘Suits’ is already streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Jio Cinema OTT platforms. The show’s underlying plot revolves around how a gifted college dropout Mike Ross lands a job with a successful New York based lawyer Harvey Specter.

After ‘Suits’, the second spot too has been bagged by another legal drama Netflix series. ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’, whose second season recently premiered on Netflix, boasts of 1.4 billion minutes of viewing for the same period. But the show’s viewing figures on Nielsen are much behind the top ranked title ‘Suits’. ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ is expected to stay on the Nielsen top ten streaming list because the second season’s Vol.2 viewing period figures are yet to be taken into account.

Besides ‘Suits’ and ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’, ‘other titles on the Nielsen overall top ten list include the fantasy drama series ‘The Wicther’ (1.19 billion minutes), the Prime Video spy thriller series ‘Jack Ryan’ (966 million minutes), and Hulu’s culinary drama series ‘The Bear’ (791 million minutes), amongst other titles.
