Lionsgate Play Fails Streaming Golden Globes Flawlessly; Again

Various Twitter users have complained that they were not able to stream the Golden Globes Awards on Lionsgate Play. If you remember, a similar problem occurred during the streaming of the 74th Emmy Awards on 13th September last year. The platform grabbed an opportunity to stream the Golden Globes when there was a chance of a high number of Indian viewers wanting to watch the show live.

The Golden Globes Awards this year was special for Indians as there were two nominations from India that are ‘Naatu Naatu’ for best original song and ‘RRR‘ for Best non-English movie. And the users that could not stream the show live missed the opportunity to witness the historic win for ‘Naatu Naatu’.

While some netizens have pointed out that there was a problem while trying to forward or rewind the show in the TV app and whenever they want to watch the Golden Globes Awards, it starts from the beginning again.

Many users said that they wanted to sign up to the app prior to the awards show but they failed. While some are furious that the money is deducted from their account but still they cannot access the app.

Subscribers are demanding their money back from the platform as they missed watching such an important event. Lionsgate Play is not among the biggest streamers in India and streaming the Golden Globes was its opportunity to increase the subscriber base of the platform at least to an extent. But they failed to deliver it to the fans and it will definitely affect the way people perceive Lionsgate Play.

Lionsgate Play should consider looking into these matters and also take the users a bit more seriously. Missing such a huge event like the Golden Globes is a matter of great regret and fans who have missed it live will still want to stream the show. It has been months since the glitch during the Emmy streaming and Lionsgate does that again. It looks as if they are looking for mere survival in the industry.
