Lionsgate Play is betting big on Indian Original content to help it gain a strong foothold in the cluttered Indian OTT space. The India-centric streaming service from US broadcasting giant STARZ has just announced its next Indian Original show, its fourth since launch. The new series from Lionsgate Play is slated to be a spy thriller. The series doesn’t have a name still, nor has it announced any cast yet.
Ace action director Rohan Khambati is directing the espionage thriller for Lionsgate Play. Rohan Khambati has been associated with the entertainment industry for 19 years. He’s been at the core of some of the biggest action blockbusters from India. He has also worked on over three hundred ad films, along with long-term experience in the designing and execution of elaborate action sequences. The upcoming espionage thriller series will explore the action-adventure genre with a unique storyline. The series has been designed keeping in mind Lionsgate’s legacy of franchises and heroes. The series will be produced by Endemol Shine India & Hypaethral Media.
The just announced Indian Original series from Lionsgate Play is its fourth series that is entirely conceived and executed in India. Last month, Lionsgate Play dropped Hiccups And Hookups, its first Indian Original series on its platform. Two more Indian Original shows are in various stages of development at Lionsgate Play.
