Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such ‘Jugaadistan’, ‘Rudra: The Edge of Darkness’, ‘Sutliyan’, ‘and ‘Undekhi Season 2’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have collated a list of top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Swaanng (Streaming on Hungama Play from 9th March)
Set amidst the backdrop of the scenic hill town Dharamshala, the show revolves around two sisters Muskaan and Dimple who live in an orphanage. The duo stumbles across a lost camera that contains some dark secret related to their town. They take the help of an academician and an NGO worker to expose the crime. But their life turns upside down when one of the sisters suddenly disappear.
Anamika (Streaming on MX Player from 10th March)
Helmed by Vikram Bhatt (Director – Raaz, Ghulam), the action thriller series follows the story of an amnesic secret agent M (played by Sunny Leone) whose eventful past comes back to haunt her happily married life. The show also features Samir Soni, Rahul Dev, and Ayaz Khan, amongst others.
Maaran (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 11th March)
Helmed by Karthick Naren, the action thriller movie features Dhanush as an upright investigative journalist who lands in the soup after publishing a piece that uncovers uncomfortable truths about an unscrupulous politician. The film also features Malavika Mohanan as Dhanush’s co-worker and romantic interest.
Mrs and Mr Shameen (Streaming on Zee5 from 11th March)
The 20-part- series revolves around the endearing love story between a good-hearted and caring man Shameem (Mauman Ijaz) and a strong and fearless woman Umaina (Saba Qamar). The story is about how Umaina gets cheated by her lover leading to Shameem marrying his close friend Umaina. Their life takes a turn when Shameem is contracted with an illness.
Super Sharanya (Streaming on Zee5 from 11th March)
The Malayalam comedy movie features Anaswara Rajan in the titular role of Super Sharanya, who is portrayed as an introverted, small-town girl who joins an engineering college in Thrissur. How she deals with her new life, friends, and romantic interests, forms the rest of the story.
Qubool Hai (Streaming on Aha Video from 11th March)
Reportedly inspired by true events, the crime drama show revolves around the story of a poor girl named Ameena and the uncomfortable truths about her life.
Khiladi (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 11th March)
The film’s plot revolves around a murder convict Mohan Gandhi (played by Ravi Teja), who escapes from prison custody because of an inaccurate assessment by a criminologist, who teams up with a cop Arjun to get to the bottom of the high-profile money laundering case which relates to the fugitive.
Rider (Streaming on Zee5 from 11th March)
The story is about two childhood friends Surya aka Kitty (Nikhil Gowda) and Chinnu (Kashmira Pardeshi) who shared a close bond in an orphanage. Eventually, somehow, they get separated and after many years they desperately try to find each other. What does life have in store for them? Will they ever meet again?
Rowdy Boys (Streaming on Zee5 from 11th March)
Helmed by Sree Harsha Konuganti, the romantic college-based film revolves around the love story between an engineering college student and a medical college student whose love is threatened by the enmity between the two colleges.
Sundarbaner Vidyasagar (Streaming on Hoichoi from 11th March)
After failing to get a decent score in his exams, the protagonist Kinkor (Riddhi Sen) ends up in a place called Kumirkhali where he builds a Sundari Bahini with the help of a group of widows in order to protect the mangroves in Sundarbans.
