Bestseller (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The psychological thriller web series follows the story of an eminent novelist Tahir Wazir (played by Arjun Bajwa), who is desperate to make his next novel a bestseller. He gets his inspiration from a budding writer’s (Shruti Haasan) story. But the goings-on take an unexpected turn as an ad film assistant is hellbent on destroying the novelist’s life. The show also features Mithun Chakraborty, Gauahar Khan, and Sonalee Kulkarni.
Vilangu (Streaming on Zee5)
Helmed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj, the seven-part series ‘Vilangu’ is an investigative crime thriller that follows the efforts of an honest police officer named Varidhi (played by Vemal) who must solve a mysterious case in a time-bound manner.
The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The period dramedy series set in 1950s Manhattan features Rachel Brosnahan as an energetic and talented New York housewife Miriam “Midge” Maisel whose life takes an unexpected after her husband suddenly leaves her. That’s when she brings out her hidden talent as a stand-up comic and things begin to change for her. The fourth season is ostensibly set in the 1960s period.
Hridayam (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
The film features Pranav Mohanlal as Arun Neelakandan, who enrolls himself in a reputed engineering college in Chennai. The film showcases his emotionally charged journey and his tryst with love, college days, and life and how these experiences affect him as a person.
It’s the Kannada remake of the cult Malayalam mystery thriller ‘Drishyam 2’. The story follows the protagonist Rajendra Ponnappa (played by Ravichandran), whose family is still living under the fear of the impending consequences of the police investigation for the senior cop’s missing son. When the investigation comes back to haunt them, Rajendra tries to deal with the situation to protect his family.
Magpie Murders (Streaming on SonyLIV)
The six-part series is based on the first Susan Ryeland-based novel of the same name by Anthony Horowitz. The plot revolves around a novel editor named Susan Ryeland, who gets embroiled in the murder of an acclaimed author whose latest incomplete book might be based on real-life incidents.
Meppadiyan (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The Malayalam drama movie features Unni Mukundan as a mild-mannered and skilled automobile mechanic who is coerced by an alcoholic man Varki (Saiju Kurup) to agree to a seemingly lucrative real estate deal. However, things do not go as expected when he falls into the trap. How the protagonist tries to get out of the mess forms the film’s plot.
Mithya (Streaming on Zee5)
The show revolves around the rivalry between college professor Juhi Adhikari (Huma Qureshi) and her student Rhea Rajguru (Avantika Dasani), who is accused of plagiarism by the former. Things take another interesting turn when both these women become suspects in a murder case.
Homecoming (Streaming on SonyLIV)
Helmed by Soumyajit Majumdar, it’s a musical drama movie that revolves around a group of old friends who reunite during Durga Puja in their former meeting spot in Kolkata – a theatre that is about to be converted into a five-star heritage hotel.
Enemy (Streaming on SonyLIV)
Directed by Anand Shankar, the Tamil action thriller movie features Vishal and Arya in the roles of two friends turned foes Rajiv and Chozhan who were rigorously trained by a former CBI officer (Prakash Raj) from an early age. Their paths cross again but to what extent they can go to outwit the other.
Space Force Season 2 (Streaming)
The space program-based comedy-drama series features Steve Carell in the role of General Mark Naird, the first Chief of Space Operations of Space Force. The second season will revolve around General Mark Naird and his underdog team’s endeavors to prove their mettle to the new administration while dealing with their interpersonal conflicts. The series cast also includes John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers, Lisa Kudrow, Tawny Newsome, and Jimmy O. Yang.
Bangarraju (Streaming on Zee5)
The film is a sequel to the 2016 supernatural drama movie ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’. The plot revolves around how a carefree man Chinna Bangarraju (Naga Chaitanya) is helped by his grandfather (Nagarjuna Akkineni) for sorting out his life and saving the temple treasure.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Streaming on Netflix)
It’s a sequel to the immensely popular 1974 slasher film ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’. The plot revolves around a business trip of a group of aspiring entrepreneurs which becomes their worst nightmare when they cross paths with the dreaded serial killer Leatherface. The presence of the infamous 1973 massacre’s sole survivor also comes into play as a plot device.
Petite Maman (Streaming on Mubi)
It’s a French drama movie that follows the story of an eight-year-old girl named Nelly who is dealing with her grandmother’s death. While roaming around her mother’s childhood home, she meets a mysterious girl Marion who bears a striking resemblance and an eerie connection with her.
IRAI (Streaming on Aha Video)
Helmed by Rajesh M Selva, the series revolves around child abuse and features supreme star R. Sarathkumaar in the lead role of ACP Robert Vasudevan who takes up a kidnapping case of a powerful politician. His endeavors to nab the culprit ostensibly forms the rest of the show’s plot.
