Locomotive Global To Adapt Yet Another Title For Indian Viewers!

It is truly a loss when critically acclaimed big and small screen titles fail to reach widespread audiences due to geographical and topographical boundaries. However, in such situations, adaptations come to the rescue!

One such adaptation on the way to Indian audiences and their screens is All3Media International‘s thriller miniseries ‘Boat Story’. Originally commissioned by BBC One and Amazon Freevee, the highly-rated show has been exclusively acquired by Mumbai-based Locomotive Global Media to adapt for the Indian market.

The adrenaline-packed thriller debuted back in 2023. Mayank Sharma, known for creating Prime Video India’s hit show ‘Breathe’, starring R Madhavan and Amit Sadh, will spearhead the Indian adaptation as showrunner and director.

The plot follows two cash-devoid strangers who (un)fortunately discover a cocaine stash on a shipwrecked boat. Their plan to sell it and divide the profits leads them straight into a sinister web of intrigue involving law enforcement, masked assassins, and a dangerous gangster known as ‘The Tailor.’

Neither a streaming platform nor cast details have yet been revealed for the ‘Boat Story’ adaptation. The original show stars Daisy Haggard, Paterson Joseph, Joanna Scanlan, and Tchéky Karyo in leading roles.

This announcement comes following Locomotive Global’s continued efforts to bring international formats to the Indian audience, following their adaptation of the American thriller series ‘Ray Donovan’ for Netflix India.
