The highly anticipated Loki Season 2 is performing sensationally. As per Deadline, the sophomore entry garnered nearly 10.9 million views within the first three days of its opening episode. And we should expect the second season to break more streaming records in its ongoing run. Season 1 ended on a big cliffhanger. Now, many believe that the same can happen in Season 2 as well. Loki’s executive producer has teased the possibility of Season 3 in his recent interview with Collider. This is what he said:
“It was similar to Season 1 in that we wanted to tell this story and tell it well, but even in Season 1, we obviously are thinking about where we are going. I would say Season 1 and Season 2 were developed and created as, like, kind of two chapters of the same book. We felt pretty strongly, all of us involved, that Season 2 was about closing that book but that there are many other books on the shelf for this character and for this world. But this felt like it wanted to be the conclusion of these great things that we have set up in Season 1. We don’t want to constantly leave people with drastic cliffhangers for our finales.”
Wright’s comments have not ignored the possibility of Loki Season 3. The third season could become a part of Phase Six of The Multiverse Saga. It may arrive on Disney+ before the grand theatrical releases of ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. Or we could witness The God of Mischief appearing in other future MCU projects. It does not matter in which future MCU project Loki appears, all those projects will share a deep connection with Kang the Conqueror, that’s for sure!
However, the thing that can disrupt Loki Season 3 production is Marvel’s recent TV overhaul after reviewing ‘Daredevil: Born Again’. The future MCU shows are expected to get conventional writers and showrunners. This could make some major changes in the show’s creative team for Season 3.
