Apple TV+ has dropped the trailer of its upcoming workplace comedy ‘Loot’ and its one feel good hilarious ride. Created by Emmy Award winners Alan Yang (‘Little America’, ‘Master of None’) and Matt Hubbard (‘30 Rock’, ‘Forever’), first three episodes of ‘Loot’ will premiere only on Apple TV+ on 24th June, 2022 followed by one episode weekly every Friday.
The trailer begins with billionaire Molly Novak (Maya Rudolph) living a dream life, complete with private jets, a sprawling mansion and a gigayacht, absolutely anything her heart desires. But her heart breaks when his husband of twenty years cheats on her with a much younger woman.
In a reaction she bursts out on him in public and being a sort of celebrity it goes viral overnight. While on her lowest she learns, to her surprise, that she has a charity foundation run by the no-nonsense Sofia Salinas (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez), who pleads with Molly to stop generating bad press.
With her devoted assistant Nicholas (Joel Kim Booster) by her side, and with the help of Sofia and team — including mild-mannered accountant Arthur (Nat Faxon) and her optimistic, pop-culture-loving cousin Howard (Ron Funches) — Molly embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Giving back to others might be what she needs to get back to herself.
Created, written and executive produced Yang and Hubbard, ‘Loot’ on Apple TV+ stars an ensemble cast of Maya Rudolph (‘Saturday Night Live’, ‘Bridesmaids’, ‘The Good Place’), Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (‘Pose’), Ron Funches (‘Undateable’), Nat Faxon (‘Married’) and Joel Kim Booster (‘Sunnyside’).
Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group has produced ’Loot’ for Apple TV+. The executive producers for the ten episode series include Rudolph; Natasha Lyonne and Danielle Renfrew Behrens for their Animal Pictures banner and Dave Becky for 3 Arts. ‘Loot’ is the second project of Yang with Apple TV+, first being three-time Independent Spirit Award, BAFTA and NAACP Image Award nominated anthology series ‘Little America’.
