Netflix has dropped the much-anticipated trailer of its upcoming grand sci-fi instalment, Lost in Space Season 3. It is also going to be the final season of the show. Despite receiving mixed critical reception mostly, it has been a sensational hit among the viewers. Yes, the stakes are higher than ever. And Will Robinson is ready to go against the deadly Robots. What more can we expect from the third season? Will it bestow a perfect conclusion to the entire sci-fi saga? Let’s find out!
The first entry was a messy but visual delight. This series is known for its grand-scale action and stupefying visual effects. We have to give the credit where it is due. But at the same time, it also lacks the much-needed human depth and character exploration. The show took off amazingly well. But its flight got hindered by its rushed pace and less screen time to supporting characters.
However, the second entry changed everything. It served as an upgrade over its predecessor. Even though it had a dull beginning, its pace started picking up after its first two episodes. Fans watched the Robinsons’ getting reunited with the Resolute crew.
Maxwell Jenkins is the best part of LIS as Will Robinson. His character has displayed growth and determination with every passing episode. His solid bond with the Robot is one of the major highlights of the show. Also, we cannot ignore Taylor Russell as Judy. The eldest Robinson child excellently showcased her leadership qualities and advanced medical skills in the last two seasons. But apart from these two characters, this space saga looks a bit stale. Furthermore, the parents have not offered anything extraordinary to the series. They just react to the conditions present in front of them.
Dr Smith is not dead! Yes, the cunning and wicked character has managed to trick all and discovered a new way to keep herself alive. Parker Posey plays the infamous antagonist of the series. Despite being likeable, it seems like her role also needs a bit of a touch-up. Yes, we have witnessed some elements of her past in the flashback sequences. But they provide nothing new to the viewers. Still, she has proved herself to be a crucial part of the series.
Now, the final season is standing at our doors. The Robinson parents are no longer with their beloved children. Plus, Will has stepped up to face the other Robots. He is ready to battle his internal demons despite having immense fear in his heart. But the protection of his family matters to him the most.
The trailer of Lost in Space Season 3 does look promising. It guarantees to provide an action-packed plot with amazing performances. However, its pacing and lack of character depth may affect this entry’s quality. But if the makers deal with these shortcomings, we may see a perfect end to the show.
