Zee5 has launched the trailer for its upcoming direct to digital release ‘Logout’ with Babil Khan set to lead as a social media influencer. Helmed by Amit Golani, ‘Logout’ will start streaming exclusively on Zee5 on 18th April, 2025.
The trailer follows Pratyush Dua, a digital influencer with almost 10 million followers who seems to be stuck in his phone all the time but for him it’s his life and his world. When an obsessed fan gets hold of his mobile phone, he suddenly realises how helpless he is and the story suddenly becomes a thriller.
Its gets craziest when this very follower tasks Pratyush with killing himself. Trapped in his flat and unable to make contact by mobile phone, Pratyush slowly realises that it is not just his career that is at stake. Will he be able to reclaim his identity and career?
Written by Biseapati Sarkar and directed by Amit Golani, ‘Logout’ stars Babli Khan, Rasika Dugal, Gandharv Dewan, and Nimisha Nair in prominent roles.
Digital addiction and overpowering social media influence has become a new territory for filmmaker’s to venture into. We have seen Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘CTRL’ do it successfully and it will be interesting to see how, after multiple festival runs, ‘Logout’ does it.
One other common thing between ‘CTRL’ and ‘Logout’ is that both rightly chose OTT rather than big screen because of their niche subject matter that might not be attractive enough to lure a wide range of audience into theatres.
