Most films just come and go. They complete their theatrical run, earn some bucks, arrive on TV and OTT and voosh!
A few of them introduce us to new subjects and styles of filmmaking. One such movie was Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha. Now after many years, we see stalwarts like Rajkummar Rao, Nushrratt Bharuccha and more. But they were merely beginners who became part of something huge.
Regardless, after 14 long years, we finally have Love, Sex Aur Dhokha 2 coming up soon. The trailer is out too and it is very different from the first part.
Dibakar’s newest project dives deep into various societal issues, ranging from the shocking antics of reality TV, where a person stoops to slapping their own mother for ratings, to highlighting the hardships faced by a transgender individual who was raped.
Additionally, it talks about the detrimental effects of a teenage gamer’s obsession with online validation, ultimately leading to a catastrophe. Bonita Rajpurohit takes on the character of Kullu in this film, with Paritosh and Abhinav Singh portraying the lead roles.
The trailer is nothing but a compilation of various shocking incidents from the film. The plot or even the characters do not get their moment to shine as the makers just wanted sensationalism. Now it is not a bad thing per se. But let’s hope that the film has something more and substantial to offer.
