Richard E. Grant (‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’, ‘Withnail and I’), Tom Ellis (‘Lucifer’, ‘Players’), Geoff Bell (‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’), Paul Freeman (‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’), Sarah Niles (‘Ted Lasso’) and Ingrid Oliver (‘Doctor Who) are the latest to join Amblin and Netflix’s upcoming film ‘The Thursday Murder Club’.
They will be joining the previously announced ensemble cast that includes Helen Mirren (‘The Queen’, ‘Gosford Park’), Pierce Brosnan (‘Golden Eye’, ‘The Out-Laws’), Ben Kingsley (‘Gandhi’, ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’), Celia Imrie (‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, ‘The Diplomat’), David Tennant (‘Doctor Who’, ‘Inside Man’), Jonathan Pryce (‘The Two Popes’, The Crown’), Naomi Ackie (‘Lady Macbeth’, ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’), Daniel Mays (‘Atonement’, ‘Chikcen Run: Dawn of the Nugget’) and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (‘Anna Karenina’, ‘Chevalier’).
Based on the best selling move by Richard Osman and written and directed by ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ filmmaker Chris Columbus, ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ follows a group of friends in a retirement home who gather to solve murders for fun but find themselves caught in a real case.
The four main members of the ‘Thursday Murder Club’ are played by a crew of talented thespians namely, Mirren who plays ex-spy Elizabeth, Kingsley is ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim, Brosnan portrays ex–union activist Ron, and Celia Imrie takes on the role of ex-nurse Joyce.
‘The Thursday Murder Club’ is currently in production in the UK and will launch soon globally on Netflix.
