The first installment of the budding franchise managed to exceed expectations, not only at the box office but also pleased the critics. So, another sequel was confirmed soon.
The world is still in love with creepy doll movies, and “M3GAN” managed to give it a spin. Not some possessed horror ghostly doll, “M3GAN” becomes a killer animatronic girl, which was definitely a new spice for such movies.
And as the sequel was announced, it was also announced that Allison Williams and Violet McGraw, both from the original film, will make their comeback as well. In terms of writing, Akela Cooper will make her comeback, having done a great job in “M3GAN.”
The first one did have a January release date, and similar to that, in the beginning, 2.0 got the same treatment, but Universal moved things around a bit.
Prior to the shake-up, “M3GAN” had a January 17th release date in 2025. But in new plans, a Blumhouse project “The Woman in the Yard” managed to squeeze in, targeting a January 10th release date.
So, the studio will definitely get breathing space between two films; not everyone can pull off a WB act. The new date for “M3GAN 2.0” is May 16, 2025, as the fans will be seeing the killer robot in action really soon.
