Maanaadu, a proper action thriller featuring Silambarasan TR aka Simbu in the lead role hit the silver screens on the 25th of November and it turned out to be a successful venture at the box office. The film has reportedly grossed Rs 50 crores worldwide, which is an impressive feat, given the Covid situation and the subsequent effect on theatrical revenues. Now, Maanaadu is gearing up for its OTT premieres.
As per reports, Maanaadu might be made available for streaming on Sony Liv from the 24th or the 25th of December. These are the two tentative OTT release dates for the film. But from what we hear, the film will certainly be landing on OTT during the Christmas season. And that is understandable, given the fact that the film’s theatrical run has come to a close in almost all the areas.
We can expect an official announcement regarding Maanaadu’s OTT premieres date from Sony Liv in the next week or so. Needless to say, the Tamil OTT audience would be eagerly waiting to watch the film on OTT.
Meanwhile, there are reports that there is great demand for the Telugu and Hindi remake rights of Maanaadu. A top production house in Tollywood is in pole position to bag the Telugu remake rights of the Simbu and SJ Suryah starrer. Once the deal is finalized, the Telugu remake might be announced formally. Maanaadu is directed by Venkat Prabhu and it is based on the concept of time loop.
