In one of their recent announcements through Twitter, Maddock Films announced that they have now officially acquired the rights of author Anuja Chauhan’s best-selling 2021 novel “Club You To Death”. The rights acquired by Dinesh Vijan, owner of Maddock Films, will be used to turn the novel into a brand new mystery movie. Apparently, at the moment the screenwriting for the movie has already started and further details about the cast and crew will be announced soon.
As for the book “Club You To Death”, the story is set in the beautiful capital of the nation, Delhi. The story follows a prestigious and elite club called the “DTC” or “Delhi Turf Club”. Things turn weird for this club, and its elite members when they realize there’s been a murder and that there’s a possibility one of these elite and prestigious members could indeed be a cold-blooded killer.
Just like her other hit novels, Anuja Chauhan has maintained her sense of humor and also included beautiful romance in this murder mystery story, to keep her signature style of writing alive. As for Anuja Chauhan, she has mentioned in a fierce battle between various production houses, she was happy to see Maddock Films gaining the rights for the film. She didn’t forget to mention that she has always been a fan of their work and glad that “Club You To Death” has found its home in Maddock Films.
As for Maddock Films, the production house has released various hits and critically acclaimed movies over the years. Few examples are Badlapur, Love Aaj Kal, Agent Vinod, Raabta, Go Goa Gone, Stree, Luka Chuppi, Roohi, Hindi Medium, Angrezi Medium amongst others. Their upcoming slate includes movies like Shiddat, Mimi, Bhediya, Dasvi, and others.
Also, not to mention this isn’t the first time Anuja Chauhan’s novel will see its portrayal on the big screen. Earlier, her novel “The Zoya Factor” was also turned into a movie of the same name starring Dulquer Salman and Sonam Kapoor. Besides that, her novel “Those Pricey Thakur Girls” is also getting turned into a web series by Disney+ Hotstar and has already set an ensemble cast for the same.
