Madhu Mantena’s Mythoverse: Revamping Epics Into Grand Spectacles

With Mythoverse Studios, producer Madhu Mantena seems to be hard at work to bring on screen the Indian epics one at a time.

One of the biggest announcements from Disney recently that took the country by storm was the announcement of a web series based on the Indian epic Mahabharata. The ambitious project will be produced by Mythoverse Studios (venture of Madhu Mantena and Sheetal Talwar) and Allu Aravind.

Interestingly this is not the only mythology-based venture Mantena is working on. He has announced The Ramayana Trilogy and has signed on renowned filmmakers Nitesh Tiwari (Dangal) and Ravi Udyawar (Mom). The project is being co-produced by Allu Aravind and Namit Malhotra and will be the film adaptation of Valmiki’s Ramayana and is to have the ‘biggest’ cast in the history of Indian cinema.

Besides the live-action adaptations of two of India’s biggest epics, Mantena also has Draupadi with Deepika Padukone on the cards. The project is to start after Ramayana as confirmed by the producer.

Madhu Mantena has a series of successful productions like Ghajini, Queen, and Super 30 to his name, and expectations from him to succeed in his big-budget outings are sky high.

With acclaimed filmmakers and actors reportedly on board to bring his ambitious visions to the screen, the success of these projects will signal a turning point in the fate of storytelling in India.
